Answer to Question 1

True

Answer to Question 2

In regards to the death of his daughter, Bruce is likely to have long-lasting effects related to the loss and have difficulty coming to terms with it. He may have guilt that his pain has affected his relationships with his surviving children. The loss of his grandchild can result in similar feelings that include intense emotional upset, survivor guilt, regrets about the relationship, and a need to restructure relationships with the surviving family. Bereaved grandparents tend to control and hide their grief behavior in an attempt to shield the bereaved parent from the level of pain being felt. The death of a partner differs from other losses because it represents a deep personal loss. Older bereaved spouses may grieve a great deal for a long time. Bruce may face pressure to move on from his grief after a year. This pressure is unique to the loss of a spouse. How Bruce felt about his relationship with his wife can also play a role in how he copes with bereavement.
