Answer to Question 1

(b)

Answer to Question 2

The student should assert that latchkey children are school-age children who regularly spend part of the day unsupervised at home while their parents are at work. In 2009, there were approximately 15.1 million (26) latchkey children. A total of 30 of middle school students and 4 of elementary school children are latchkey children. Preteens and teens left unsupervised after school may be more prone to get involved with alcohol and drugs.
