How is time lost if you receive a note that requires a little effort to complete and is not urgent and you decide to do it later when you have free time?

Answer to Question 1

You can save time be realizing that as soon as you complete the task it is over and you do not need to waste time picking the paper again and rereading and re-familiarizing yourself with the document.

Answer to Question 2

No, clear & open communication to all involved is essential to get the buy in to make it achievable.
