Answer: The ideal answer should include:
1. This structure, called a ziggurat, is a pyramidal temple.
2. The ziggurat consisted of successive platforms with exterior staircases and a shrine at the top.
3. Members of the priesthood might bring to the temple offerings of food or a sacrificial animal to the resident god.
4. These priests often placed in the temple a statue that represented themselves in perpetual prayer.

Answer: The palette celebrates the victory of Upper Egypt, led by King Narmer, over Lower Egypt, uniting the country.
