Answer to Question 1

From March 15 to March 28 some 90 arrests were made. Anyone who approached the plant within 50 feet of a picketer was arrested, even a person intending to relieve a picketer on duty. Anyone who caused a car to stop even momentarily on the access and exit roads was arrested. The police also arrested any striker or sympathizer who shouted scab or uttered a profanity. On March 15 the police handcuffed two union attorneys who approached the picket line. The attorneys were taken to jail and released on bail near midnight.

Answer to Question 2

Massed picketing is unlawful because it amounts to forcible seizure of property.

Dogs have been used in studies to detect various cancers in human subjects. They have been trained to sniff breath samples from humans that were collected by having them breathe into special tubes. These people included 55 lung cancer patients, 31 breast cancer patients, and 83 cancer-free patients. The dogs detected 54 of the 55 lung cancer patients as having cancer, detected 28 of the 31 breast cancer patients, and gave only three false-positive results (detecting cancer in people who didn't have it).
