Did the Court concede that workers had the right to form and join labor organizations?

Were the organizing efforts of the UMWA peaceful? Was this a good defense?

Answer to Question 1

Yes, but this right was subject to employer acquiescence.

Answer to Question 2

Yes. The defense was not good inasmuch as the Court held that the end sought caused illegal breach of contract.
