Quid pro quo cases are offers of job benefits for sexual favors. The atmosphere of harassment cases are broader in scope, but cover more offenses. The victim will need to show not only what the offensive conduct was, but also that it created a hostile work environment for the victim.

Answer to Question 2

The complaint filed by an employee or the EEOC, notification of the employer (EEOC has 10 days), EEOC action phase (180 days), and, if not settled, the right-to-sue letter.
