Answer to Question 1

Code-based systems rely heavily on codes rather than court decisions to cover all situations that may occur. France, Germany, and Spain are three examples of code-based legal systems. Non-code-based systems, such as the United States and England, rely on a set a general rules (such as a constitution) and the specifics are dealt with by precedents, tradition and customs of the country.
