Sue Thompson received a home cold-canvas sales call at her home from a representative of the Enlightened Encyclopedia Company. Sue has the legal right to rescind this contract within three (3 ) business days. This right is not contingent on any defect in the goods or any misrepresentation on the part of the salesperson. Sue simply has the right to change her mind. The purpose of this protection is to allow consumers a chance to cool off from an aggressive, overly-persuasive sales presentation.
