Occurs when the inner cell mass divides after the amnionic had been formed and fails to completely separate, resulting in variable degree of union between twins who may be joined at the head, thorax, abdomen, or pelvis

Estrogen stimulates synthesis of blood coagulation factors, increasing their concentration in the blood, thereby predisposing to both arterial and venous thromboses.
