Answer to Question 1

Gynecomastia occurs when the ductal and fibrous tissue of the adolescent male breast begins to proliferate and form a distinct nodule of breast tissue under the nipple. The condition is not serious, but may cause embarrassment. Treatment usually involves surgical removal of the excess breast tissue.
