Basophils contain histamine and an anticoagulant called heparin.
Monocytes are actively phagocytic and increase in certain types of chronic infections.
Lymphocytes are primarily produced in the lymph nodes and spleen, but can also be manufactured elsewhere in the body where lymphoid tissue is present.
