Answer to Question 1

ANS: C
Vitamin B12 deficiency is most likely to develop from inadequate intestinal absorption, rather than an inadequate vitamin intake. This can progressively lead to the development of pernicious anemia.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: A
Chronic lymphocytic leukemia is the most common leukemia in the population older than 70 years of age, although acute myeloid leukemia and chronic myelogenous leukemia do show increased age-related incidence. Essential thrombocytosis is rare. Chronic myelogenous leukemia is seen more often in the middle aged, and acute lymphocytic leukemia most commonly occurs in children.
