Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: C

Answer to Question 2

Answer: Some malignant B- cell lymphoproliferative disorders lack surface immunoglobulin and can be overlooked. Some lack surface antigens or an abnormal phenotype. Hodgkin lymphoma not only lacks many lymphoid cell antigens but also the neoplastic cells are rare, and a single cell suspension could be difficult to prepare because of fibrosis. Some abnormal phenotypes are not specific for a particular lymphoid neoplasm. It is important to use morphology together with immunophenotyping to help overcome these pitfalls.
