Answer to Question 1

The scrub assistant sets up and maintains the sterile field, performs a sterile scrub, dons a sterile gown and gloves, and may assist the physician during the procedure. The circulating assistant is considered clean rather than sterile and would obtain supplies and equipment for the sterile team.
