Answer to Question 1

1, 2, 4
The three stages of GAS are the alarm reaction stage, the stage of resistance, and the exhaustion stage. Anxiety is a symptom of stage one, and a paralyzing effect is a part of stage three. The possum response is an activity that can occur during the exhaustion stage of the syndrome.

Answer to Question 2

1, 4
Passive euthanasia means the omission of an action that could prevent death and allowing death to occur. An example of passive euthanasia is following a do-not-resuscitate order. Coma depasse is a term for irreversible coma. Brain death is used when a client is assessed as being dead by neurological criteria. Assisted suicide and active euthanasia are similar in that an action must be carried out by one person to help end the life of another person.

Heroin has a slight affinity for opiate receptors. Most of its actions are due to metabolism to active metabolites (6-acetylmorphine, morphine, and morphine-6-glucuronide).
