Adverse effects of cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan) include hemorrhagic cystitis, renal failure, alopecia, stomatitis, and liver dysfunction. The nurse should encourage a daily fluid intake of 2 to 3 liters during treatment and offer suggestions to manage hair loss. However, spicy foods are not recommended for patients with stomatitis.
