1. Hydrogen peroxide may be used for cleansing of infected wounds, but needs to be followed with saline cleansing to remove any irritating chemicals harmful to the tissue.
2. Betadine may be used for cleansing of infected wounds, but needs to be followed with saline cleansing to remove any irritating chemicals harmful to the tissue.
3. Normal saline is an isotonic solution equal to the tonicity of body fluids and is used for cleansing wounds.
4. Dakin's solution is used when specifically ordered to change the pH of the wound environment.
