2. Fluid intake does not affect the sympathetic nervous system; however, a client with hypertension would be advised to decrease fluid intake.
3. The sympathetic system is triggered by stress response. Chronic stress can permanently damage the peripheral vascular system, leading to chronic hypertension.
4. The autonomic nervous system is part of the regulation of urine.

1. Sodium increases fluid retention and peripheral vascular resistance.
2. Losing weight decreases resistance and lowers blood pressure.
3. Hypertension can be caused by low calcium levels.
4. Excessive alcohol consumption causes hypertension.
