Author Question: Why only 6% of the scientists are Republican, 55% Democrat, and the rest Independent? (Read 3246 times)

Just Google it and you will find out that I am telling the truth. Is it because the Republicans are stupid?

The modern Republican party is openly hostile to science.  That's why.

Not stupid, but they do think differently.  Creation vs evolution is one thing.  Romney says they are not going to be dictated to by fact checkers.  Scientists are sticklers for facts.

I'm not saying this is it but maybe because they tend to work for facilities funded by the government and feel democrats will fund them better.  This is false, the funding for science has decreased fairly steadily for forty years regardless of party in control.

A better question is why are both parties failing to fund science.

Scientist is also a very broad term.  Social scientists and other as Sheldon Cooper would say hocum sciences are considered science.

The majority of doctors and engineers are Republican.

Democrats are stupid actually. Why is it that you follow idiotic polls. Most doctors oppose Obamacare and side with Republicans.

By the way, many independents are conservatives.

Republican ideology suppress innovation and imagination.  Conservatives love status quo and cannot tolerate people who question it.  Democrats are more liberal.  Innovation, imagination, and curiosity are common traits among scientists and artists.  Put two and two together we can conclude that scientists and artists are more likely to be Democrats.
