In some states a minor can become emancipated without going through the courts by:
 
  a. getting notarized signed permission by the caregivers
  b. being thrown out of the parental home
  c. making more money than the caregivers or having a full-time job
  d. joining the military, marrying, or becoming a parent

A parent of a school-age child states that the family members all enjoy watching television. They do not understand why television use should be restricted. The nurse explains that unlimited television viewing:

A
Excessive TV viewing can displace active recreation. Children are less likely to read if they spend long hours in from of the TV. Children can be negatively influenced about life, especially when they view excessive violence on TV.
