A woman has come to the emergency room with multiple bruises over her body and a small laceration over her upper lip. She says she fell down the stairs while doing her housework.

A regular exercise program including vigorous activities such as running, weight lifting, or competitive sports can usually be initiated after the 6-week postpartum examination or when approved by the client's physician/CNM.
