The treatment may involve gastric lavage with activated charcoal, IV fluids with various additives to decrease absorption and treatment of electrolyte imbalances, and vitamin K for bleeding tendencies. Ingestion of acetaminophen is not treated with the administration of milk or water. Gastric lavage within 1 hour and administration of the antidote N-acetylcysteine (Mucomyst) are indicated.
