Answer to Question 1

4
Rationale:
1. The client would be anemic and anorexic.
2. The client would have a decrease in blood pressure and no ankle edema.
3. Shortness of breath and frequent urination are not signs of a need to retest for HIV.
4. The client who is HIV-positive would have a suppressed immune system, and would experience symptoms of fatigue and an opportunistic infection, such as candida vaginitis.

Answer to Question 2

B
CVS carries a much higher risk of spontaneous pregnancy loss than amniocentesis. CVS cannot determine the presence of neural tube defects.CVS was designed to be used during the first trimester; amniocentesis is done preferably during the second and third trimester after the uterus has risen up from inside the pelvis. CVS has a much shorter interval between test performance and availability of results when compared to amniocentesis.
