Answer to Question 1

A
Because of the expanding abdomen with pregnancy, internal bleeding from trauma may be masked. Pain tolerance does not increase during pregnancy. However, women become more aware of body sensations during pregnancy. Assault to the abdomen can cause vaginal bleeding. While increased plasma maintains the blood pressure at normal levels, blood pressure decreases do not occur until approximately 40 percent of total blood volume is lost.

Answer to Question 2

A

A Most women with BV complain of a characteristic fishy odor. The discharge usually is profuse, thin, and has a white, gray, or milky color. Some women also may have mild irritation or pruritus.
B The discharge associated with candidiasis is thick, white, and lumpy and resem-bles cottage cheese.
C Trichomoniasis may be asymptomatic, but women commonly have a characte-ristic yellowish to greenish, frothy, mucopurulent, copious, and malodorous discharge.
D Women with gonorrhea are often asymptomatic. They may have a purulent en-docervical discharge, but discharge usually is minimal or absent.
