This can then be used to show him how to make small changes that produce results, especially if he eats before periods of inactivity such as before going to bed or when he is bored. Thinking in terms of a diet is negative and can lead to poor body image. If the parents have poor eating habits, this could be bad advice. The child could too easily choose the wrong sport or do poorly. It's best to offer solutions with more variety.
