Women who avoid using bottles and formula are more likely to continue breast-feeding.
Use of formulas decreases breast-feeding time and decreases the production of prolactin and, ultimately, milk supply.
Formula takes longer to digest. The new breast-feeding mother needs to nurse often to sti-mulate milk production.
Overfeeding after breast-feeding time causes a sense of fullness in the infant, so the infant will not be hungry in 2 to 3 hours.
