Foods such as peanuts, milk, soy, shellfish, tree nuts are common allergens. By adulthood many allergies will diminish or disappear. Allergies to shellfish, peanuts and tree nuts often persist into adulthood.

In teenagers, HIV is primarily contracted through sexual intercourse with an infected person or sharing of needles with an infected person during IV drug use.
