Answer to Question 1

ANS: A, B, D
After rupture of membranes, it may be necessary to replace the fluid to alleviate cord compression, increase fluid if oligohydramnios is present, or dilute meconium to lessen the risk of meconium aspiration. Amnioinfusion is contraindicated with vaginal bleeding and prolapsed cord.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B
Signs of imminent delivery of the placenta include lengthening of the umbilical cord, a gush of blood from the vagina, and elevation of the uterine fundus.
