Answer to Question 1

To decrease variable costs, we could outsource expensive parts of the business, find less expensive suppliers, or become a more niche provider since these businesses have higher prices for their special customers. To decrease fixed costs, we could spend less on R&D or cut down on advertising dollars by having fewer TV spots and more social media instead.
