Worldwide, there is a decline in the number of people who like and use, or desire to use, American brands: NOP World, a global research firm, found that, in 30 countries outside North America, the total number of consumers who use U.S. brands fell from 30 percent to 27 percent, while nonAmerican brands remained stable. Blame can be attributed to US actions in Iraq, the refusal to sign the Kyoto agreement, and a general disaffection with U.S. culture and policies.
