Department stores offer a broad variety of goods and deep assortments in both the U.S. and international markets. Among the products they carry are clothing, household appliances, electronics, kitchenware, china, home furnishings, and toys. Outside the U.S., department stores typically also have a large supermarket section. In Central and Eastern Europe, department stores lease departments to third parties. Many times the leased departments carry merchandise that directly competes with the store's offering and with that of other leased departments.
