Answer to Question 1

False

Answer to Question 2

There are two components that are needed when citing a published research article in a research write-up. First, there is the citation, the way you mention or refer to the item in the text when you are discussing it. Second, there is the reference itself, the complete description of the name and location of the article, the authors, and the source. References are included in a separate section immediately following the body of the paper.
