1. Articulate the reasons why people tend to believe poverty cannot be overcome.
2. Note the assumptions that have to be in place to actually overcome poverty.
3. Justify whether you think poverty can actually go away.

1. Explain why the private sector alone cannot eliminate poverty.
2. Outline what the federal government can do and has done.
