Answer to Question 1

ANSWER: Pro - US prosperity came from the labor of enslaved people, the US never compensated African
Americans, precedent of reparations for Japanese descendants. Con  today's taxpayers were not
actually involved, no current African American citizens were slaves.

ANSWER: Colonization, Slavery, Manifest Destiny or the taking of Mexico's land, immigration laws that
excluded certain populations that were seen as less desirable
