A 15-year-old is experiencing dizziness, wheezing, and difficulty breathing after eating a bagel. She seems very drowsy and has hives on her arms and chest. Her respirations are 32 per minute and shallow. Her radial pulse is 128 beats per minute and weak. You should first:
 
  A) contact the parents for consent to treat the patient.
  B) obtain a full set of vital signs.
  C) find out if she has any allergies and exactly what kind of bagel she ate.
  D) ventilate her with a BVM and supplemental oxygen.

Question 2

When using a rigid suction catheter to remove fluids from the airway, it should be inserted:
 
  A) only between the cheek and gums.
