proper falling techniques, protective padding, and strengthening exercises. Additional answers may also apply.

Answer to Question 2

Nerve impingements in the wrist are most often caused by repeated physical stress. Symptoms include point tenderness, pain with and without motion, numbness, and possible loss of strength. Baseball players, javelin throwers, bowlers, tennis players, racquetball players, gymnasts, and swimmers are most likely to be affected by such impingements. Treat suspected impingements using the PRICE procedure to decrease inflammation. Refer the athlete to a physician for diagnosis and further treatment. Once impingement is confirmed, make sure the physician's orders are followed. Phalen's test might be used to assess a nerve impingement in the wrist.
