Explanation: B) The cognitive evaluation theory explains that motivation will decrease when extrinsic rewards are added to an intrinsically motivating task. When a reward is introduced and the motivation changes from intrinsic to extrinsic, the original task/activity loses its motivational power. The resulting decrease in motivation will lead to a decrease in performance because less effort is exerted.
