This repository is physically separate from the existing operational databases in the organization. The data warehouse integrates the analytically useful data from those various operational databases. Integration refers to the process of bringing the data from multiple operational databases into a single data warehouse. Of course, in this process, no data is actually removed from the operational sources. Instead, the analytically useful data from various operational databases is copied and brought into the data warehouse.
