Some of these tips include: 1) know the delegation guidelines for RNs, LPNs, and NAPs; 2) the RN never delegates patient assessment, teaching, evaluation, or judgment; 3) know the most common adult, maternal-child, and psychosocial health care disorders; and 4) LPNs can perform certain tasks such as medication administration, sterile dressings, and foley catheter insertions. (In some states, but not all, LPNs can also insert NG tubes and IVs with documented competency.)
