A nursing student is in her practicum rotation. She is consistently late for the shift. How should the preceptor respond to the behavior?
 
  A. You are always late. What are you going to do about this situation?
  B. Being late is unacceptable. This behavior needs to change.
  C. I noticed that you often arrive late. I think we need to discuss how this affects your evaluation.
  D. Lateness creates a situation that leads to a negative day. I think it is time to work out a plan to eliminate this problem.
