  c. Much of the critique is based on supposition anyway, so the novice has as much expertise as anyone when it comes to writing one.

Answer to Question 1

ANS: A
A critique is an intellectual opinion statement; regardless of the educational or experience level of the writer.
Assuming that the study is a quality study would probably be intimidating, not encouraging.
The critique should be based on concrete information available in the research report.
Although this is true, it is not addressing the critique aspect of the question.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B
There is a duty to protect from harmcontinuing to question could cause psychological harm to the subject.
Permission from the IRB is necessary with any study using human subjects.
As long as the subject is told that refusal is permitted, ethical standards are not violated.
Sometimes researchers cannot include every detail of the study in a qualitative study, but this does not violate ethical principles if the subjects are later debriefed.
