ANS: This affects our ability to compete in the marketplace and also affects our national security; we are unable to understand the internal meanings of individuals verbals and nonverbal cross culturally; limits communication;

ANS: Ability to interact with the hearing impaired; teach babies to communicate more easily; increase in understanding cross-culturally.
