It is a sexual relationship between persons whose kinship relationship is culturally deemed too close and with whom sexual relations are prohibited.

ANSWER:
Monogamy is when each spouse has only one other spouse, while polygamy is when one spouse has more than one wife (polygyny) or one husband (polyandry).
