The Na practice a nocturnal visitation or sese, between a man and a woman. There are no enduring bonds between them and the children of such a union are considered as members of the woman's matrilineal family.

The majority of U.S. families are either a single individual or two individuals without children. Fifty-two percent of all U.S. household units do not involve marriage at all.
