Answer to Question 1

B
Staphylococcal infections include impetigo, boils, carbuncles, and cellulitis. Herpes zoster is caused by herpes simplex virus.

Answer to Question 2

C
Response C is the best answer. Activities that assist older adults in preserving their ability to function independently would be appropriate for frail older adults. Response A may be appropriate, but it does not address the necessity of relating strength and stamina to function. Responses B and D are not good answers because they assume that the frail older adult is either nonambulatory or bed bound. Of people older than 85 years, 85 live in the community with varying degrees of independent function.
