Answer to Question 1

ANS: B
Research has indicated that advance care planning and terminal pain management are inade-quate and support of the grieving family may be nonexistent. No research supports that palli-ative care is most effective in any particular period of the death trajectory. There are no time limits placed on palliative care. A DNR is required in order to eliminate resuscitation efforts

Answer to Question 2

ANS: D
Cerumen impaction is the most common and easily corrected of all interferences in the hearing of older people. Individuals at particular risk of impaction are African-Americans. While the other options can result in a hearing loss, they are not seen as frequently.
