Answer to Question 2

The textbook is called Stress Management for Life with the intention that students can incorporate what they have learned for a lifetime of better stress management.

The book provides many tools and techniques for stress management. Everyone will have his or her favorites. Some will find prevention techniques, like applying the POPP formula or Living above the Line, to be most helpful. Others will find great meaning in prioritizing values, keeping a gratitude journal, or committing Random Acts of Kindness. Few students miss the importance of understanding the power of how perceptions determine reality. Many students report that the time management and money management chapters help them take control and literally change their life. From the relaxation techniques, the favorites run the gamut from meditation to PMR to autogenics to guided imagery to yoga. The Power Nap and Restful Breathing are always popular choices.

Taking control of one's life is perhaps the most important stress reduction strategy. The book provides the knowledge, tools, skills, and abilities to take control of life through the prevention and management of stress.
