Answer to Question 1

A cheerful user may experience greater euphoria from amphetamines or heroin than a gloomy user.
A user's expectations play a role in the drug's effects.
If you believe that alcohol is a sexual stimulant, that is what you may experience; or if you have negative views of LSD, you are more likely to have a bad trip..

Answer to Question 2

Because it is passive in nature, the body scan method is probably not right for Jane. She would likely prefer a more active form of relaxation, like active progressive muscle relaxation or incremental progressive muscle relaxation.
