Sharpening the saw is a saying developed by Steven Covey that refers to the different physical, emotional, social, and spiritual activities that people must perform on a regular basis in order to stay productive or sharp.

Answer to Question 2

Central: brain and spinal cord.
Peripheral: connects central to all other parts of the body.
